Why Revenir for Older Hair?

​TCQA Maintains the Hair-Growing Phase of Hair Follicles

Scientific research has shown that the patented active in Revenir, TCQA, maintains anagen (growth phase) and represses telogen (resting phase) in follicles. This elongates the length of time the follicle is in this growing phase; in the efficacy trial people found their hair grow faster and longer. Furthermore, TCQA induces the transition of the hair cycle from the telogen (resting phase) to anagen phase (growing phase).

TCQA, the key patented active in Revenir, boosts a key biochemical pathway in the follicle; the Wnt / β-Catenin pathway. This pathway actually regulates the activity of the hair follicle and stimulates 'stem cells' which produce new healthy cells which are crucial for healthy follicles and hair growth as well as promoting hair regeneration. TCQA also beneficially targets other genes that are involved with the hair cycle.

Our research shows that the active, TCQA, in Revenir boosts a naturally occurring cell signalling protein called NRF2, which is involved in protecting cells from ‘oxidative stress’ . However, as we get older levels of this protein drop; by increasing NRF2, Revenir protects the follicle from premature ageing from factors that cause oxidative stress such as UV, pollutants, harsh chemicals, smoking, illness etc. that cause damage and leads to hair loss. Boosting NRF2 also improves energy availability, via the cell's energy store - ATP, for follicle cells - energy is a vital factor in normal healthy follicle function and needed for hair growth. Revenir's actives also increase the activity of the gene ‘HPOT1’ – a gene that protects the ends of chromosomes (the telomeres) from being eroded by oxidative stress – this is believed to slow cell ageing.​
